Why you should quit your MLM for a regular job

The more I’ve learned about Multi Level Marketing, the more I’ve realized the risks involved, and I’ve decided to be wary of any opportunities involving them. But I didn’t think about sharing my thoughts on MLMs publicly until I noticed a certain trend. MLM reps very often bash traditional W-2 jobs, and their arguments against them can be really enticing.

Why work so hard day after day to make money for your boss who doesn’t care about you? Why not throw up two fingers at him and that outdated nine-to-five and be your own boss? Why accept a quarter raise each year when you can be making an unlimited amount of money and creating generational wealth?

Any of us who hear that during a time where we feel restless, unfulfilled or let down by our job could easily be tempted. It sounds like just the thing sometimes, to break away from the norm and do something more with life. F the expected; it sounds so fun and exciting to blaze our own way, especially when that path is already figured out for us. You don’t even have to invest a lot to get started, or come up with any of the business plans. It’s all ready for you, at a great one-time price.

I’ve been swayed by those pitches a couple times myself. And I decided recently that I do want to share my thoughts on it, because of how strongly I believe in the potential and value of a traditional job.

I started by making a list of all the things I’ve heard MLM reps say, about why an MLM is so much better than a regular job. And I wrote down my response (the reverse). I’d planned on making it just one video/blog, but the list became gigantic. So I’ve decided now to tackle a handful of points at once, and this is Part 1:

“By being in an MLM you will own your own business instead of just being an employee somewhere.”

“You’re opening a franchise.”

“Other industries have sales reps who make commission.”

“There is room for everyone at the top.”

“Your income is unlimited.”

Here’s the video where I give my thoughts on each of those:

Once you’ve watched it, please let me know your thoughts!
